Below the Line is a technical term for all those marketing activities aimed at ensuring widespread visibility not in the conventional media but through sponsorships, public relations, promotions, word of mouth and direct marketing aimed at a selected target rather than the general public. What we want to achieve is not just big numbers, but the right numbers: the people interested in the product.
